Breakfast Quiche
I always thought making a Quiche was difficult, well I guess I never checked out a recipe. We will be getting chicks next week so I thought I should try it out. SOOOO easy a child can make it, and she did. CG made a beautiful breakfast Quiche.
1 Cup cheese (we used Mazzarella)
2 Tablespoons flour
1 Cup milk
4 eggs
1/2 Cup parmesan cheese
1 1/2 Cup veggies/ meat (this works for dinners as well)
Mix all together and put in pie shell, bake for 60 minutes at 350 degrees.

Vanilla Wafers recipe
We found an old recipe card from my Grandmothers little wooden recipe box. It reads:
Vanilla Wafers
2/3 cup butter
1/2 cup suger
1 egg
2 Tablespoons milk
1 1/4 teas bk pd
salt-vanilla
slap on sheet and bake 10 min (Love that)
I had to look at some recipes online to find out how much vanilla and salt and what temperature to put the oven on other than that I could follow. We used 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1 Tablespoon of vanilla with the oven on 400 dgrees F. On we went.
Thay tasted really good although we made them too large. The kids liked them.
We are going to try some other recipes from this old wooden box. I think my Grandmother would like that.

They were too big |
They look like suger cookies and taste like a mix between suger cookie and shortbread cookie. Doesn't really taste like the store bought vanilla wafers but still yummy |

Kids Cake Auction

Children in the community made cakes and bid on cakes. All proceeds went to the library.

He is being very careful not to spill the sugar. |
This was her first time using the mixer! |
The lego cake. I failed to get a picture of the guinea pig cake, it was really cute though. |

We made BUTTER!
We made our own butter. I never knew it was so easy. All that we needed was heavy cream and a mixer with a whisk attachment. First let the cream come to room temperature. Pour it into the mixing bowl and use the whisk attachments. You may need to put a small towel over it because it does splash a little.
This would be how you would make whipped cream, it will look like that. You will go past the whipped cream stage and you will notice that it will start to separate. When it looks like this then it is done. Buttermilk and butter.
Scoop out the butter and pour the buttermilk in a jar. Wash the butter in cold running water and work it a little until the water runs clear. You can add herbs and freeze it if you want. Use the buttermilk for baking see our Donut Muffin recipe.
We also made some fresh English Muffins to go with the butter.

This was a website that we found. It also has some suggestions on books.
