What do you think?

As a Homeschool Mom I always wonder if I am making the right decision when it comes to what I teach. I want to make sure that I feel comfortable, and that CG and SA are interested and learning. I think and rethink decisions sometimes as I am sure most Homeschool Moms do.

I started elementary education with US Geography, State Presidents, and a visual timeline. We also studied 6 events, places and people in history.  I have seen and heard that Ancient history is usually taught first.

Why?

How do children learn about Ancient Egypt if they don't understand Geography and time lines. I felt that it made sense to teach from where we are and then expand out.

Geography
Local community, State, Country, World.

Timeline
Family tree, historic people, inventions.

Postcard update

We are half way through the postcard swap.  The kids get excited to read the facts on the postcards.
