Chicken coop and ducks are growing.

Oh my goodness these things grow so quick. They have also taken up most of our time. We built the coop and bought a pond. We also fenced in the yard.

I will say that I would not have bought the two ducks if I had known how much work they would be, but they are fun. We are trying to figure out how to keep the ducks in the coop without being messy. They have wonderful personalities and the kids love them. Chickens are easy the ducks not so much!

A learning experience and a great Spring progect for CG and SA.

  1. What a cute lil' coop! We also have 7 hens and 2 ducks. The ducks do take a little more work, but they're good layers if you have females! Our ducks and hens share a coop, but we clean it out at least once a week and spot clean the nesting boxes almost every day. And the "pond" is emptied and cleaned 2 times a week. Have they started to lay yet?

    1. They have not started to lay yet. They are all 3months old and hopefully all females. That would be alot of water for us to empty and clean the pond twice a week. Holy cow!

    1. Thanks Lori, I think the chicken (Lizzy) thinks she's a baby! We have a few very cute personalities in the group.
